Every year, she gets thousands of French people dancing and singing the night away. No, she's not the new artist phenomenon of the moment. But I am talking about the Fête de la Musique, which has been bringing us wonderful musical moments for over 40 years now.
Every June 21, this great, free, popular and festive event brings live music to the four corners of France. With the aim of giving a voice to budding musicians and novice groups, the Fête de la Musique is often an opportunity to discover up-and-coming young artists, whatever their musical style. From rap to rock, classical to electro, jazz to blues, reggae to French variety... there's something for everyone! Every June 21, music takes over the streets and many other places, some of them unusual.
Once again this year, theInstitut du Monde Arabe is taking part in the new Fête de la Musique. TheInstitut du Monde Arabe (IMA) is a French cultural institute dedicated to the Arab world, located in the 5th arrondissement of Paris. Throughout the year, the cultural center offers visitors a wide range of exhibitions and events.

For the new Fête de la musique onSaturday June 21, 2025, the Institut du Monde Arabe is concocting an original event, combining giant karaoke, traditional and contemporary Palestinian songs, dabké and a DJ set.
In detail, the karaoke, entitled"Karaoké de la liberté", will be hosted by Naïma Yahi, a specialist in the cultures of exile, the artist Samira Brahmia and DJ Bab from the Musiques de fëte collective. For the occasion, a giant screen will be set up on the forecourt. So get ready to find yourselves singing along to standards in Arabic, French and English. On stage or in the crowd, the atmosphere promises to be festive and convivial!
The evening will also feature Abo Gabi and his musicians (percussion, flute-nây, violin, keyboards). They'll be performing traditional and contemporary Palestinian songs and accompanying four live dancers of dabké, the famous Middle Eastern group dance. The troupe, made up of Souraya Baghdadi, Tania Salibi, Imène Ghomari and Mohammed Alaloul, will introduce audiences to the main steps of Lebanese and Palestinian dabké.
Finally, to round off the evening in style, don't miss DJ Bab, who should set the dancefloor alight with his mixes inspired by the melodic sounds of Algeria.
