On the banks of the Canal de l'Ourcq, Akwa is the new nautical base where friends can rent boats without a license!

After 11 years of loyal service on the Canal de l'Ourcq, Marin d'Eau Douce has given way to Akwa. A new nautical base in the heart of Paris, but also a true waterside living space for the young and the adventurous, opening its doors on April 21, 2025.

Akwa has a fleet of license-free electric boats for hire, so you can travel at your leisure, with family or friends. 21 silent pleasure boats for 4 to 11 people, for pollution-free, noise-free cruising, some adapted for people with reduced mobility (PRM).

And for adventurers who are also gourmets, Akwa also offers 4 plancha boats for hire, circular boats designed for 10 people and equipped with a central plancha for cooking while sailing. The menu offers 100% vegetarian catering, using fresh, local produce... but you can also bring your own grills! Another option is to book a culinary service with a private chef.

On the floating pontoon, too, summer promises to be a lively affair, with food and drink for Akwa customers, an area dedicated to children, who can pilot remote-controlled boats, and a variety of activities throughout the year, such as litter-picking sessions to clean up the canal, playful explorations for children and introductions to urban photography.

Akwa is also available to associations outside peak hours for yoga classes, creative workshops, tutoring, artistic gatherings and other themed events.
